Scout Cabin Threatened
The 100+ year legacy of the Bronxville Boy Scout Cabin – a history of unwavering stewardship and volunteer service to youth and the community – is being threatened by Westchester County. We hope to educate the public about this terrible situation, as the county attempts to take over the cabin in the name of improving park services. The county has issued a “notice of ejection” and the Bronxville Scout Committee is vigorously appealing in court. Your donations and support can help fight to preserve this wonderful resource under the care of the scouts.

The Scout Cabin
The historic Otis. T. Barnes Scout Cabin is a unique resource for Scout Troops, Cub Scout Packs, and the community of Westchester County. The Bronxville Boy Scout Cabin facility is located on Midland Avenue in the Village of Bronxville, New York.
Tradition of Scouting
The Village of Bronxville has a long tradition of Scouting. Bronxville Scouting units are chartered by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), and are members of the Greater Hudson Valley Council.
The Scout Troops and Cub Scout Packs of Bronxville have maintained the finest scouting organizations in the nation and have guided young boys and girls from Bronxville, Eastchester, Tuckahoe, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle, Yonkers, and Mt. Vernon to be leaders and outstanding members of the local, national, and global community.
Scouting plays an important role in our nation and the world. Each president of the United States from Howard Taft to Joseph Biden has served as honorary president of the Boy Scouts of America. Of interest, John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of the United States, was a member of Troop 2, Bronxville, and started his scouting journey and legacy of service at the Bronxville Boy Scout Cabin.
Donations
The Bronxville Scout Committee is chartered to maintain the cabin and facilities in support of scouting and the community. Consider making a tax-deductible donation to support the Bronxville Boy Scout Cabin and our fine young Scouts. The Bronxville Scout Committee is a 501(c)(3) not-for profit organization.
